Study in Journal of Public Health reveals that emphasizing potential harm of not getting vaccinated increases vaccination rates.

A study in the Journal of Public Health found that warning people of the risks of not getting vaccinated may increase their chances of getting vaccinated. Conducted by Ke Feng of Shenzhen Institute for Advanced Study, China, the research highlighted that emphasizing the individual risk of not getting vaccinated was more effective than highlighting potential benefits. The study tested three messaging strategies for COVID-19 vaccination and found that the "potential harm" message led to the highest probability of vaccination at 72.6%, followed by the "personal benefits" message at 65.5%. The lead author suggests these findings can provide valuable insights for governments to improve their pandemic response strategies.
