Unlicensed churches may permit polygamy through religious ceremonies, lawyer clarified.
Lawyer Dennis Adjei Dwomoh clarified that a church or white wedding does not guarantee a monogamous marriage. For a marriage to be recognized as monogamous, couples must meet certain requirements, and must ensure their chosen church and pastor are licensed to perform such marriages. Some unlicensed churches may only perform religious ceremonies, potentially allowing for polygamy.
