40-year-old Kurt Smith, previously pardoned by former Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin in 2019 for murdering his 6-week-old son, has been arrested and charged with first-degree assault after allegedly attacking a woman with a knife. Smith, who was convicted in 2002, was pardoned on the assumption he would become a productive member of society. However, he later faced domestic violence charges in 2020.
