Apple complies with EU's Digital Markets Act, allowing EU users to change default apps and delete built-in apps.
Apple has announced changes to its European users' experience, including a dedicated section for altering default apps and more options for deletable apps, in compliance with the EU's Digital Markets Act. The new rules aim to limit pre-installed, preferred options from tech giants like Apple and Google. In the upcoming update, iPhone and iPad users in the EU will see a randomly ordered list of 12 browsers per country to select and automatically download their preferred browser. Apple also plans to allow users to set default apps for messaging, phone calls, and other functions, and delete certain built-in apps like Messages and Safari.
