Sylvania Platinum's updated scoping study for its Volspruit project in South Africa increased the NPV to R1.2bn ($69m) from R464m ($27.3m) in 2022, with a 14-year mine life and a 17% internal rate of return. The company plans to use a contract miner at Volspruit, manage the processing plant, and sell concentrate to a third-party offtaker. The peak funding for the project is now estimated at R4.3bn ($266m) with a payback period of six years.
