French courts seized three Nigerian presidential jets over a $74.5M compensation dispute between Ogun State and Chinese firm Zhongshan.

French courts have seized three Nigerian presidential jets in a dispute with Chinese firm Zhongshan, which was awarded $74.5m in compensation by an independent tribunal over a contract revoked by Ogun State in 2016. Ogun State has not yet honoured the award, leading to the seizure of the jets. Nigeria's government claims it is not under any contractual obligation with Zhongshan, and the dispute is between the firm and the Ogun State government. The Nigerian government is working with the Ogun State government to resolve the issue and discharge the court order in Paris.
