The Villages, a retirement community in central Florida with the oldest median age in the U.S., has experienced fast growth in its young child population, becoming the fastest-growing U.S. metro for young children this decade. The working-age population in the Wildwood-The Villages metro area has risen by 19.1%, driving the growth. This has led to challenges such as limited family-friendly facilities, but also offers job opportunities and new store openings. The Villages recently launched Middleton, a residential development for employees and their families.
