Peru's President announces Chancay mega port as South America-Asia connectivity "nerve centre" for November inauguration.

Peru's President Dina Boluarte announced that a mega port under construction in Chancay, north of Lima, will serve as a "nerve centre" for South America-Asia connectivity. Scheduled for inauguration in November, the port will offer investment opportunities for infrastructure development and facilitate cargo shipping and redistribution from countries like Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, and Paraguay, with the goal of making Peru a key point of connection to access Asia's vast markets. The port is being constructed by Chinese company Cosco Shipping Ports Ltd.
