CDS Lt. Gen. Thomas Oppong-Peprah clarified that Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ambulance trial, was released from the military due to lack of knowledge or interest in duties.

Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lt. Gen. Thomas Oppong-Peprah, clarified that Richard Jakpa, the third accused in the ongoing ambulance trial, was released from the military due to a continuous lack of knowledge or interest in his duties. The CDS stated the decision to discharge Jakpa was not taken lightly, as he consistently failed to demonstrate the required expertise and commitment to his role in the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). This statement comes amidst the controversy surrounding a purported letter detailing Jakpa's dismissal, which the CDS denied releasing to the Minister of Defense, Dominic Nitiwul.
