The Democratic National Convention (DNC) will cause significant street closures and security measures around the United Center and McCormick Place from Aug 19-22. Road closures will begin as early as Aug 17, as the U.S. Secret Service prepares its security perimeter. The United Center and McCormick Place will have two security zones: an outer zone for vehicle screenings and an inner pedestrian restricted zone for those with credentials. The Chicago Transportation Authority is expected to reroute buses around the vehicle screening perimeters.
