North Korean military intelligence officer Rim Jong Hyok has been indicted by a grand jury in Kansas City, Kansas, for his alleged involvement in a conspiracy to hack American healthcare providers. Hyok is accused of using money launderers to cash out illicit proceeds and using the money to fund more cyberattacks on defense, technology, and government entities worldwide. The hack on American hospitals and other healthcare providers disrupted patient treatment, and Hyok is also accused of attacking other international entities, including NASA and military bases.
