NORAD intercepted four military aircraft - two Russian Tu-95s and two Chinese H-6s - in the Alaska Air Defense Identification Zone, with the aircraft remaining in international airspace and not entering American or Canadian sovereign airspace. The North American Aerospace Defense Command sent fighter jets from the US and Canada to intercept the Russian and Chinese bombers, which NORAD did not consider a threat.
