Australia's Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists proposes a $7.3bn/year, 30-year plan to restore environment, save species, and repair soils and river systems, at 0.

Scientists say Australia can heal its environment for $7.3bn a year, less than two-thirds of the government's reported annual expenditure on fossil fuel subsidies. The landmark blueprint from the independent Wentworth Group of Concerned Scientists proposes a 30-year plan to restore ailing land and sea scapes, rescue thousands of species from extinction and repair agricultural soils and fragmented river systems. The plan will cost just 0.3% of Australia's GDP, making it an "excellent spend" given that half of the national economy is nature-dependent.
