29-year-old Dublin cyclist Niall Kieran died in a tragic accident while cycling with his father in the Pyrenees mountains, France. Kieran left the road, fell over a parapet into a ravine, and emergency services were unable to save him. His cycling club, Orwell Wheelers, and Cycling Ireland expressed condolences and the Department of Foreign Affairs provided consular assistance to his family.
