A second fox in Bath, Maine, tested positive for rabies, raising concerns about rabies cases in the city. Police captured and euthanized the young fox after it was found wandering around and acting sick. The case follows another positive rabies test in late June. Bath had more rabies cases in 2019 than any other community in Maine, with 66 total confirmed cases in 2023, mostly involving raccoons.
