Minister of State James Lawless announced plans to introduce a 60 km/h limit on local roads in Ireland by November, as part of a phased reduction in speed limits. The highest annual road accident figure since 2014 was reported earlier this year. The government also plans to approve data sharing between local authorities, the Road Safety Authority, and An Garda Síochána to identify patterns and improve road conditions.
