2023 Scottish Social Attitudes Survey reveals Scottish Government trust at record low (47%), UK government trust in Scotland's best interests up to 21% from 15%.
Trust in the Scottish Government has reached a record low, with only 47% of respondents feeling they can trust the Scottish Government "just about always" or "most of the time", according to the Scottish Social Attitudes Survey. Trust in the UK government to work in Scotland's best interests also increased, reaching 21% in 2023, up from 15% in 2019. The survey also found declining trust in both the Scottish and UK governments' ability to listen to the public before making decisions.
