French oil major TotalEnergies and UK power firm SSE are partnering to create a new joint venture, Source, to establish a major player in EV charging infrastructure in the UK and Ireland. The companies plan to deploy up to 3,000 high-power charging points over the next five years, with charging hubs in prime locations in and around urban areas powered by renewable energy. The venture targets a 20% market share in the electric vehicle fast-charging market.
