North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has sacked or demoted senior officials for their "irresponsible" handling of his flagship project to build a new town in the country's north, according to state media KCNA. Kim criticized the officials for causing financial losses and poor construction work during his visit to Samjiyon, a city being developed into a "socialist utopia" with new apartments, hotels, a ski resort, and commercial, cultural, and medical facilities. The leader singled out Ri Sun-chol, minister of state construction control, as a "good-for-nothing person" who had never been to the site since December.
