17,000 women's cervical smear tests re-examined due to Southern Trust biomedical scientists' fitness to practise concerns.
Biomedical scientists in the Southern Trust are being investigated over fitness to practise concerns related to cervical screening. Smear tests of over 17,000 women will be re-checked due to a review from 2008. Some affected women have referred the matter to the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). The HCPC does not share details about ongoing investigations and legal processes.
