The UAE delivered a joint statement on climate change and human rights at the 56th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva, on behalf of 69 states. Khalifa Almazrouei, Counsellor at the UAE mission in Geneva, emphasized the undeniable and pervasive effects of climate change on all economic sectors, and the importance of upholding human rights while formulating and implementing climate policies. Addressing the disproportionate impacts on vulnerable communities, often reliant on agriculture and fishing, is crucial to adapt and protect their resilience.
