Aidan Gomez, who co-authored the "Attention Is All You Need" paper that pioneered the transformer at Google in 2017, is now applying AI to businesses at his startup, Cohere. After leaving Google in 2021, Gomez co-founded Cohere, which is backed by Nvidia and reportedly valued at $5 billion. Unlike consumer-facing products like OpenAI's ChatGPT, Cohere's generative AI models are designed for enterprise use.
