70 firefighters rushed to a high-rise building in Woolwich, East London, after a flat caught fire. Ten fire engines were sent to tackle the blaze on Rymill Street. The London Fire Brigade initially feared the worst, but three people in the flat managed to escape before the firefighters arrived. Other residents stayed in their flats, which the fire brigade hopes were unaffected.
