Melbourne Airport Rail Link project report recommends no underground station unless a detailed business case is presented.
Mediator Neil Scales' report recommends that the $10bn Melbourne Airport Rail Link project should not include an underground train station unless a comprehensive case is presented for it. The report suggests that Sunshine Station should continue its transformation into a major transport hub and refreshing modelling work on Tullamarine Freeway capacity. If airport owner APAM wants to consider an underground station, they must provide a detailed business case for stakeholders to examine. The report has been sent to state and federal government authorities and the airport owners.
