Australia's monetary conditions are deemed restrictive by the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), with interest rates at 4.35% and the cash rate above the estimated neutral rate of around 3.5%. RBA Assistant Governor Christopher Kent stated that these conditions are particularly restrictive for households but less so for larger businesses. The RBA is continuously evaluating the need for further interest rate adjustments to control inflation.
