Big record companies, including Sony Music, Universal Music Group, and Warner Records, are suing AI music startups Suno and Udio for alleged copyright infringement, claiming they exploit artists' recorded works. The Recording Industry Association of America announced the lawsuits, filed in federal court in Boston and New York, alleging that the AI startups train their models on copyrighted sound recordings without permission, producing music that directly competes with human artists' work.
