Prime Minister Albanese appoints Matt Kean, former NSW Liberal treasurer, as Climate Change Authority chair.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has appointed former NSW Liberal treasurer Matt Kean as the new chair of the Climate Change Authority. Mr Kean, who recently resigned from state politics, will lead the independent statutory body that advises the Commonwealth on climate change policy. He previously served as an energy minister for New South Wales and was known for his outspoken views on climate change policy within the NSW Liberal Party.
