Contaminated clothing bag found on Highway 58 in Oak Ridge; low radioactivity, no public threat.
A bag containing contaminated clothing was found on Highway 58 in Oak Ridge, but there is no threat to the public. The Oak Ridge Fire Department responded and found the bag to hold very low radioactivity, consistent with used personal protective equipment and clothing. Local resources are now responsible for properly disposing of the bag, and an investigation is underway.
