Labour pledges 650,000 new jobs, mainly in skilled trades, over five years in "decimated" industrial heartlands. Labour's Shadow Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, plans to create 350 new jobs a day for plumbers, electricians, engineers, and technicians. The party aims to make working people better off by investing £7.3bn in a national wealth fund.
