British wife's Spanish husband deported from UK for missing EU Settlement Scheme deadline.
British woman Aimee Grossman's Spanish husband Gines Rodriguez was deported from the UK to Spain after missing the deadline to apply for the EU Settlement Scheme. The couple, married for 15 years, had lived in the UK from 2016 to 2018 and returned in 2021. Gines was stopped at Leeds Bradford Airport due to insufficient reliable information and was deemed to intend to work and stay in the UK. The Home Office did not comment on the individual case.
