A crop spraying plane crashed near Brookings, SD after a flock of ducks flew into its engine, causing pilot Jeffrey Brunsen to make an emergency landing in a grass field. The Thrush S2R spray plane, owned by Wilde Air Service, suffered $450,000 worth of damage. The pilot sustained unknown injuries and was transported to Brookings Hospital. No damage was reported to nearby fields.
