SP MP Afzal Ansari, brother of deceased gangster-politician Mukhtar Ansari, credited UP CM Yogi Adityanath for BJP's win of 30 Lok Sabha seats in the state. He said Modi's "magic" was limited to three seats, and that without Adityanath's efforts in Varanasi, retaining the seat would have been difficult. Ansari claimed that Yogi Adityanath's focus on ground realities was key to the BJP's success in the state.
