17-year-old Connor Plummer, a student at Oxley College, becomes a finalist in the Young Archie exhibition at the Art Gallery of NSW with his painting "A Boy Called Dean". The artwork addresses the overlooked aspect of mental health in teenage boys and is inspired by his friend Dean. Out of 4000 entries, Connor is one of 70 finalists for the competition inviting artists aged 5-18 to submit a portrait of someone special to them. Connor has also been a finalist in the Young Archie competition at the Goulburn Regional Art Gallery and won this year's Portrait Prize at Oxley College. The Young Archie exhibition runs until September 8, with winners announced on July 27.
