1bn accounting error in NSW state budget due to double-counting Sydney Metro station sales.

The NSW government has discovered a $1bn accounting error in its state budget due to development sales at Sydney Metro stations being counted twice. This increases the projected net debt for the state and adds to economic headwinds ahead of the state budget release on June 18th. The error was reported to the NSW auditor-general, who is now investigating.
