The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is investigating Microsoft's deal with AI firm Inflection, to determine if the tech giant structured the agreement to avoid antitrust scrutiny. The deal involved Microsoft hiring Inflection's co-founder and most of its employees, and paying the startup $650m in a licensing deal. Microsoft is not the only tech giant under antitrust scrutiny, with regulators increasing their focus on competition in the AI sector.
