Australia revises PALM scheme, increasing short-term worker hours for farmers.

Australia's government has revised the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme, allowing farmers to offer 120 hours of work over four weeks to short-term workers, up from 30 hours per week previously. The change aims to provide flexibility for farmers, particularly smaller ones, facing tight margins and unpredictable harvesting cycles. The Fair Work Commission has also announced a 3.75% increase to the national minimum wage, effective from July 1.
