Star Trek: Discovery finale revealed that Doctor Kovich, played by David Cronenberg, was Agent Daniels from Star Trek: Enterprise. The connection was planned since season four and had been dropped as breadcrumbs throughout season five. Showrunner Michelle Paradise explained how the big Easter egg came to be and Cronenberg's reaction to his character's link to Enterprise was positive once it was explained.
