Senior political advisor Gou Zhongwen, a member of China's CPPCC Standing Committee and deputy head of the Committee on Ethnic and Religious Affairs, is under investigation for suspected severe violations of Party discipline and law. The Communist Party of China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision are conducting the probe, as announced on May 30.
