Micron Technology ordered to pay $445m in damages to Netlist for patent violation in memory-module tech.
Micron Technology, a chipmaker, has been ordered to pay $445m in damages to Netlist, a memory technology company, after a US jury concluded Micron violated two of Netlist's patents related to memory-module technology for high-performance computing. The jury also determined that Micron's infringement was willful, which could lead to a judge tripling the damages. This is the second time a jury in the Eastern District of Texas court has awarded Netlist millions in a patent case.
