Biofuel groups petition U.S. Supreme Court for SREs review, aiming to deploy Carbon Capture and Storage technology for lower-carbon biofuels.

Biofuel groups urged the U.S. Supreme Court to review the Fifth Circuit Court's decision on Small Refinery Exemptions (SREs), aiming to support the deployment of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology at biofuel plants. By capturing and storing CO2 in underground wells, ethanol and biodiesel could become the lowest-carbon liquid fuels commercially available, impacting the market significantly. The Carbon Capture & Storage Summit will explore the economics, infrastructure, and financial and market impacts of this technology for biofuel producers.
