JD.com, a leading Chinese e-commerce company, reported a 13.9% increase in Q1 profit to RMB7.13 billion ($987 million) with revenue rising 7% to RMB260.05 billion ($36.02 billion). Q1 net income per ADS was RMB4.53 ($0.63), up 15.3% from previous year. Adjusted net income per ADS increased to RMB5.65 ($0.78) from RMB4.76 in the previous quarter. Net product revenues increased by 6.6%, and net service revenues grew by 8.8%. The company's focus on expanding its logistics, electronics, and home appliances divisions, as well as offering price cuts and discounts, contributed to the growth.
