Plaquemine High School dismissed students early due to a small appliance fire in the science lab on May 13th, causing lingering smoke in the building. All students and staff were evacuated, and students were dismissed at 9:15 a.m. for safety. Checkout stations were available at the school's stadium for parents to pick up their children.
