Zimbabwe police officer John Chitsaka faces theft charges for allegedly stealing a firearm from a Gutu police station in 2005. His wife reported the unlicensed firearm in April 2024, and the police found it at his Harare residence. Chitsaka appeared in court, granted $100 bail, and is set for trial on June 20. Prosecutor Sithembiso Moto claimed Chitsaka stole a P1 BSAP type firearm, which was subject to handover and takeover at the station.
