Rufus Wainwright blames Brexit for the early closure of his West End musical, Opening Night, which received negative reviews. Wainwright, whose musical starred Sheridan Smith, claimed that Brexit caused England to have a narrower outlook and reacted negatively to the more European staging and rhythm of the show. The play, which opened in March, was scheduled to run until 27 July but closed two months early.
