Luxembourg-based satellite operator SES has agreed to buy rival Intelsat for $3.1bn, in a deal that aims to create a stronger satellite giant to better compete against companies like Elon Musk's Starlink and Amazon's Project Kuiper. The combined entity will be headquartered in Luxembourg and maintain a significant presence in the US. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2025.
