US vows ongoing support for families of Japanese abductees by North Korea until their return.

The US vows support for families of Japanese abducted by North Korea decades ago until they all return home, ending their painful separation. US Ambassador to the UN, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, made the statement during her visit to Tokyo, where she met with the families of abductees. Japan claims North Korea abducted at least 17 Japanese citizens in the 1970s and 1980s, with twelve still missing.
