32-year-old James Anthony Cunneen will face a third trial in 2025 over allegations of aiding in the cover-up of murdered mother Carly McBride's body and lying to protect her alleged killer, Sayle Kenneth Newson. Cunneen's first trial alongside Newson in 2019 was aborted after seven weeks, and Newson was later convicted of murder. Cunneen's upcoming trial, set for March 2025, will address allegations that he assisted Newson in the murder cover-up.
