2023 Met Gala exhibit "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" features 250 revived garments in glass coffins, engaging multiple senses and implementing a living garden coat.
The Met Gala's upcoming exhibit aims to be a multi-sensory experience, with fashion beyond just visuals. Curator Andrew Bolton's show, "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," features 250 revived garments from the Met's archive, with items lying in glass coffins, engaging the senses beyond sight. The exhibit, open to the public from May 10, will have a dress code of "The Garden of Time," inspiring creative, garden-themed attire. Even a living garden coat made of oat, rye, and wheatgrass is included in the exhibit, designed by Jonathan Anderson of LOEWE.
