Herndon police officer shot a man armed with a knife during a domestic dispute on Sunday, after he allegedly stabbed his wife and the family's dog. The man and woman were both taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while the dog was taken to an emergency vet. The officer, on paid administrative leave, will be investigated by the regional critical incident response team. Both the husband and wife are reported to be in stable condition.
