Victorian Premier Ann Alyd announces $10m in grants to revive live music venues, festivals, and jobs in the music industry. The Live Music Festivals Fund and the Victorian Gig Fund will provide up to $10,000 each to eligible venues for artists' fees. However, industry leaders argue more policy interventions are needed to address rising insurance costs and lack of government support, including tax offsets and universal basic income for artists.
